This violin represents our interpretation of the Guadagnini model, uniting the reliability and projection of a newly built instrument with the worn, time-softened beauty of an antique.

With its rich patina and carefully applied antiqued finish, Respiro pays tribute to the bold aesthetic and character that defined Guadagnini’s work.

The one-piece back is carved from a piece of narrow and irregularly flamed Balkan maple, and the spruce top is from the Valleys of Northern Italy.

Tonally, Respiro is vibrant and expressive. Its lower register is warm and resonant, while the upper range sings with clarity and brilliance.

Quick in response and rich in nuance, it offers both power and refinement qualities that make it equally suited to solo performance and ensemble playing.

Now completed, Respiro embarks on its own journey to Japan, where we hope it will find the musician destined to bring its voice fully to life.
